Race Report:

Swim
----
Swimming was a little hectic with one swimmer going in the swimming pool every 10 seconds. But considering the number of people lined up around the swimming pool (probably 150+), it was probably the best way of having the maximum # of people in the pool.
I did my 6 laps at a decent pace. I passed on lady at the end of the first lap and I got passed once in the 3rd lap although i caught up with the swimmer. I was out of the pool in less than 5:00 based on my watch which is what I targeted for (I had below 5:15 in mind).
The race result game me: 4:47.
Not sure if this is the actual time to be honest as I think it was closer to 4:55

T1
--
My very first Transition....
It was an ok transition although I probably could have saved a lot of time (2:45 based on my watch).
I had some difficulties to put my jersey on because of my body being wet. I added a second layer (long sleeves) to be comfortable on the bike since it was still cold (6:15 am).

What would you do differently?:

I would work on putting my jersey quicker.
It was stuck on my wet shoulders.

Bike
----
The bike was a flat race, going out from the Worldgate Center to the WoD Trail. Police cars were there at all intersections which was of great help.
I biked as fast as possible and I passed probably around 20 persons. I did not get passed. It felt great to see I started in 50th position and I was catching up with some people that had started in the first waves. I did however cramp in the last third part of the bike. I tried to drink regularly to cope with that. I am looking for advices here from experienced people to better handle this in the future.
I did the bike in around 51:56 based on my watch.
The race results give me 54:43 for both T1 + bike.
So 54:43 - 2:45 = 51:58. That's correct.

T2
--
Nothing specific here.
Racked the bike, put my running shoes on and went out of the Transition area without too much pb.

Run
---
the run was flat.
I just did not manage to run at my regular pace (6:00). I was cramping out and I ran probably at 85%.
my pace was close to 7:00/mile.
I managed to keep up this pace and I finished accelerating.
Race results for both T2 and run was: 15:37
15:37 - 1:30 = 14:07

What would I do differently?:

Drink more on the bike to avoid cramping.
Push harder on the run in the first 0.5 miles.

Conclusion
----------
Overall, I am quite happy with the race organization.
There were 64 women and 82 men that raced. So it's a small race.
I recommend it to anyone wanting to get ready for the season.
The results were a little suspicious though but this is a local race. So no biggy.

Something funny to note:
During the awards ceremony, I was called as the 3rd best female. Quite funny... I did not know you could change of sex during a Triathlon event... :o)
