Race Report:
I will never, ever ever do a marathon off-the couch again. That sucked. Ironman? Off the couch? any day. Never a marathon, never again.
Be forewarned: It can be very cool at the start of this race, when it is still dark and you're in the middle of the desert. Be prepared!
First eight miles are spectacular, and I'm not just saying that because they were down hill. The cactus terrain at sunrise is just awesome.
The next 7 miles through a little golf community aren't bad. They are hilly.
The rest of the race (including the entirety of the half and 10K courses) is pretty lame, scenery-wise.
All in all, not a real travel race (unless, like my father, you stay near the ritzy golf courses and make good use of that proximity).
