Race Report:

First, congratulations to everyone who raced at Kinetic this past weekend! I had quite a few clients pull off some impressive finishes.

My goals with this race were to "get my feet wet" with my first race of the year, benchmark my fitness against the local talent and get in a quality interval speed session.

I was a bit rusty on transitions and most definitely could have dug a little deeper on the run (I dry heaved afterward but didn't quite throw up), but overall I feel good about my race and that I'm where I need to be right now on my journey to a sub-9 hour finish and Ironman Hawaii slot at Ironman Coeur d'Alene the end of June.

The best thing about a sprint race is that it is only a sprint race. I'm a little tired today, but definitely not beat up like I would be after competing in a half-Ironman. I'm ready to jump right back into quality training for the last 6 weeks leading up to Ironman Coeur d'Alene.

Next up for me is Triple-T on May 21-23 then Ironman Couer d'Alene on June 27.

Live strongly and boldly!

David
