Race Report:

Great race, good time (noon) and weather was a little chilly, perfect for running.

I did this with a team at work, it was a lot of fun having their support. The course is nice - you start by the mason duck pond in front of the Center for the Arts, running out and to the left near the main parking garage, around the circle (slight incline) and into the neighborhood off University Drive. Make a right at the first street, then two lefts and back onto University, back to the circle.

I was behind only one other girl. I tried to catch up nearly the whole race and got pretty close coming around the last uphill on university, but once we got to the circle she took off! Too bad. I was only about 15-20 seconds slower.

Also, I think this course is a little longer, because I'm pretty sure my mile pace (although the miles are NOT marked here) was better than at the VA Du. I felt much better too. That could be a function of the time of day though.

Either way, I still got a trophy for the 1st place non-student female, 2nd female overall. I felt really nervous during the last mile, but I think the tempo runs are helping. I need to get over the nausea feeling I always get. Not sure if it's race jitters or just the speed I'm going at.
