Race Report:
Curious. I was the last official finisher. I even won the first-place "turtle" award for the slowest finisher - second year in a row. Yet the official results were was listed above.
In any event, this was the same event as last year, with the exception of the run, which was solely on the W&OD, and only a 2-miler. My deconditioning, so apparent from the 4/2 Cherry Blossom debacle, manifested itself in my slow pool swim (too bad I don't have splits) and need to resort to breaststroke early.
But I finished the race, ran most of the way (a vast improvement over last year), and collected my fleece, all before 9 a.m., and still made it to church for the 11:15 service.
This is a must-do race. Despite the brutal 6 a.m. start time, it's convenient and there are a lot of friendly faces.
