Race Report:
This was my first ever race and I didn't really know what to expect. I took advice from anywhere I could get it but was still really nervous. The night before walking through Luray I found that the wine Festival was in town and I had more than I needed. Not a good beginning, but I got lots of sleep and made it to the race with plenty of time to spare.
Swim: The swim is the area that I worry about the most since the other events I can always pull over and rest if I really need to but if your options for swimming are basically swim, drown, or quit and I don't quit if at all possible. Well I slowly worked through my panic and made it out of the water and up into the transition which was fairly uneventful.
Bike: The bike was pretty tough for me but the scenery made it all worth while. I was riding a hybrid bicycle which made me a little slower but it made some of the hills a lot more bearable as I had a ton of gears to roll through.
Run: I ran as fast as my fat body could move and in the end I was ok with how I did.
Overall: A great first event. All the People were fantastic. Now that I have completed a race I am going to continue working hard and hopefully improve for the next time.
