Race Report:

Original goal for Ross and I was something in the 3:30's. The weather was pretty nice but a little bit of a headwind on the back side of the course.

We had a 1:49:29 13.1 mile split, but fell apart on Mile 24. Ross's quads started to cramp and my calves went out once I started walking. The last 2 miles took 22 minutes to cover, but we were able to find our legs for the last half mile. I collapsed on the finish line and the awesome Marines ripped me up from the ground and help me walk it out.

Overall the race was a personal success. This is the first time I have run mile by mile with someone else. It makes the race more fun, but you have to adjust your plan throughout to stay with each other. I'll try again next year to get a 3:30 and after that I'll never run another marathon unless it's after a 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike. Wait, is there any interest in qualifying for Boston? We'll see how painful 3:30 is first.
