Race Report:
First race of the year...
The Swim, 1.5 miles. 65 degrees. It took me what seemed like 10 minutes to get acclimated before I could really get going. It's an out and back course. Like all florida lake swims, the water looks like tea.
The Bike, 18 miles, 2 loops, all within Lake Louisa State Park. The terrain is rolling hills, nothing steep by any stretch. Nice ride.
The Run, 7 miles. Half on pavement, half on sandy trails, which makes for some tough running. Most people tried to run on the side, but that was filled with weeds, cactus, and other prickly plants. This part of the run is somewhat like an Xterra run.
In summary, it was great to get out of the cold and get the season rolling. This was a well run triathlon, in a beautiful setting, with not alot of people. I hope to go again next year. Next stop, Oceanside, Calif.
