Race Report:

Mooseman is known for the hills and it's a well deserved reputation. The incessant rain during the past 2 months almost caused it to be cancelled but the staff did yeomans work in getting the course ready.
I was in the second wave and the water temperature was perfect. Did meet my goal of under 30:00 (29:27)and for once T1 went off without a hitch (2:21). I was somewhat cautious during the bike leg, due to the very wet road conditions and potholes, not wanting to crash & possibly jeopardizing Lake Placid.(2:52:36) T2 was another fast transition, for me (2:06)and the run was uneventful, maintaing a steady pace 8:22 for a 1:49:31. As a prep for Lake Placid, Mooseman is the perfect venue. Well organized, great volunteers and plenty of refreshments/fuel on the course. The hills make the course but let's not forget the beautiful lush mountain scenery, a welcome change from NVa.
Cheers,
Paul
