My swim still sucks, but the weather was perfect! |
Race Report:
I went into this race with no stress or nervousness at all and was looking forward to enjoying the day.
David G puts on an awesome race and the weather was absolutely perfect on Saturday.
The Swim: I suck at swimming. Period. I will keep trying, but…Anyway, I took my worry free attitude all the way through the swim here and finished worse than usual (even for me – I miss my wetsuit!). I did stay in Z2 the whole time and came out in a pitiful time of 38:47. AG place 12/16 (cost me first place - damn swim!)
The Bike: I am a freak, I love hills!. I had fun and was able to shout out to Dave C who passed me near the end of my first loop. That last hill was unexpected, but I pushed through it. I was pleased with my bike in a time of 1:26:10. AG Place 1/16, Overall woman: 11/84. The Run: Two loops, downhill going out, uphill coming back. I slowed quite a bit on the way back on the first loop, but my second loop felt surprisingly good. This is a great course to cheer people. I think I saw every RAT at least once. Great job, buddy! Run time: 49:37. AG Place 2/16, Overall woman: 26/84.
Great job to all who raced. It was so great to see Keith B in a race – finally!!! There were quite a few who placed in their age groups also. Next year I am going to do like Shawn and race the Oly and the Sprint. Double the fun!
