Had a better race than 4 days before but I was not that fresh |
Race Report:
After my bad luck of the previous WE (lost a shoe at Herndon 5K) I decided to do another short local race.
My legs were not that fresh. I did not necessarily stop training for that C-race and it was too close to the other race (5 days before) so I just used it as a training race for a 10k race to come.
The race was quite fast (few rolls) except some strong wind. Nothing special to say here except I kept my pace all along.
I finished in 19:07 (6:10 pace). The time was not that great but it was ok with my legs still being tired. I did not stay for the awards (medal for 1st AG finisher) so I could spend more time with the family for Thanksgiving.
Great thing though was to be there just in time for the arrival of the 1st runners on the 10k race (they had started 10mn before us).
The guy smoked everybody. He finished in 34:31
And the best of all. 3rd place, a girl finishing in 36:57 (sub 6 pace). Quite amazing!
A good local race.
