Race Report:
This race is run along the trails near Bluemont Park. I'm a fan of 12Ks, as it is one of the "weird" distances that you don't see all that much. DC Road Runners has a couple of them. Advantage of this race: nice hills. Advantage this year: the course was NOT icy. Last time I ran this, it was pretty slick. This year, it was dry and perfect. Race benefits Capital Hospice. I worked registration before running - it is possible to volunteer and run this race if you are so inclined. Late start time: around 10:00 a.m. Shorter 3K race accompanies the main event, so if you have a bud who doesn't run or if you have a kid who wants to burn off energy, there is that option.
