Race Report:
I came back to Roth this year for the fourth year in a row. Why? Because it's a special race and offers a experience that you can't find at any other Ironman-distance race.
After having a spectacular race last year, which resulted in an 8:51 PR and a top 25 finish with a men's field second only to the Hawaii Ironman World Championships, this year's race became simply a long swim and bike workout plus the opportunity to watch Yvonne Van Vlerken (8:45:48) and Ericka Csomor (8:47:05) shatter Paula Newby-Fraser's Ironman course record.

Congrats also to Reid Kiser, Shawn Clark, Jen Ragone and Aaron Schwartzbard for their outstanding races at Roth!
After the race, I had the opportunity to spend a week hiking in the Swiss Alps with my friend and Alps tour guide, Dave Tipler. I did not realize how big the mountains were until we started climbing them. :)

Next up for me are some adventure races including the 24-hour Black Water Escape and Evasion on November 7 (www.blackwateree.com) and possibly a triathlon or two (TBD).
