Nice tempo run after brick workout - just a bit too windy |
Race Report:
This was a C-race for me, to get used to run on tired legs. I had done a long run on Friday and a long brick the day before (3h40 bike + 30mn run), plus one to two works outs a day all week.
The race was very family oriented. I got to see our famous Dr Eugene Su that warmed up people before the start. I also met him at the arrival after he finished his 5k in a good time (4th place).
I started the 10k race in 5th position but I got passed by 2 young folks in the last mile, to finish 7th. My time is really not great compared to what I usually run, but considering both the very strong wind (the up hills with facing wind were a killer) and my tired legs, I'll take it as a reasonable time :) Funny thing is that I never got my AG award (1st 30-39) because for some reasons, they lost my bib/name. I am not even listed in the ranking list today... Well, that's the type of thing that happens with local events. But they told me they were checking into this. so maybe I will still get my $25 PR rebate, good for changing my used shoes... :) All in one, it was a good tempo training session, to be ready for Columbia in 2 weeks.
