A different challenge that makes an Ironman seem like a casual stroll through the park |
Race Report:
This past week, I had the unique opportunity to participate in the Special Operations Force Academy - a 6 day mental and physical combination of all military Special Forces training - followed immediately by the SEAL Adventure Challenge - a 24 hour non-stop hell week simulation.
It was a very cool experience and I'm still trying to get my head around what actually happened and what it all means to me after a week of sleep deprivation, surf torture, log PT, field training exercises, poison oak, SCUBA diving, sky diving, beach camouflage, o-course, chafing, a burst ear drum, and drown proofing to name a few of the activities and experiences that were compressed into the 7-day period.
I'll be chronicling this experience in a series of articles in my blog and an upcoming article in Tri-DC Magazine.
