This race was really quite interesting... |
Race Report:
...I ran the "We've Got Your Back 4-Mile" in Reston, yesterday. The race is associated with the Virginia Spinal Institute and the Spinal Research Foundation. The course is on Sunset Hills to the W&OD to Hunter Mill and back. It includes the hill we all know from biking near the Buckthorn Lane crossing. Since I am on the W&OD Trail Patrol, I got to claim it as trail patrol mileage as well as getting in a training run. The neat thing: lots of information about keeping your back healthy and free bone density scans. I've always been scared of osteoporosis, but was happy to learn that the three glasses of skim milk and the yogurt I consume pretty much daily have helped. It's neat, it's different, and it was a good time. Also, they have tech shirts. They ran out for race day registrants, like me, but they promised to get shirts to us after the race.
