Comment: Tempo training race (in memory of my friend)

Race Report:

A few months ago, a good friend of mine and neighbor passed away.
This race was a way to say goodbye to him before his official ceremony at Arlington cemetery the day after the race.
We were several wearing a dedicated T-shirt and I ran the race remembering good moments.

His wife and kids were waiting at the arrival along with mines and I tried to run as good of a race as possible even though I had planned this race as just a tempo training (C race).

Legs were not good enough but I finished in a decent time. I shaved a couple of minutes compared to last year.
But I was first and above all very proud to run in his honor and cheer the other family members and friends that gathered and run for him.

A couple of funny things that happened:
- the T-shirt was a yellow cotton T-shirt, and god knows how much I sweat. In the 90 degrees heat, I sweated a lot and the T-shirt just started to be full of sweat and stick to the skin and be heavy. Jeff was probably laughing at me from where he is now...
- the 4th place was the same person that won the race last year. He's a good guy and he got me in the last sprint.

- the little magnetic tag that I put on my shoe was actually the wrong tag. I put on my shoe the instructions and kept the actual magnetic tag on my bib... Results: I appear on the start and finish pictures but no official result of my name and time.

And I left the AG award to someone else but that really did not bother me as I had done this race with my friend in mine.
And staying with his family and friends was THE award.
Jeff, we love you...
