Actually, a 3-mile race, but still a huge PR |
Race Report:
This was my first race since returning from my journeys out west and my first marathon. I did a lot of running while traveling across the western United States, but since getting back and getting the marathon bug out of my system I've been playin a lot of soccer and doing a little bit of additional running.
Well, all that indoor soccer must have done something, because my previous best in the 5k was and 18-something at Lake Fairfax. Sure, this was 100m short, but a 17:05 was way beyond my wildest dreams.
The day was gorgeous and it's a good course; defnitely a race to consider.
