Overcast - Calm winds - 77F
THE COURSE
Swim: Non-wetsuit freshwater 750m counterclockwise loop
Bike: 15mi rolling hills on shoulderless roads. Course looks like a figure-8 on the map. Very little car traffic. Excellent traffic control at intersections.
Run: 5k out and back, with the first/last mile being a trail run. Definitely a challenge with high FM (i.e. many short but frequent hills), tree roots, and mud.
COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS
Costs: Entry fee $60, Transportation costs for 5-hr each-way drive.
Benefits (Participation): Non-white T-shirt, Hammer Gel packet, Endurolytes, plenty of post-race food, finisher's medal, prize raffles during awards.
Benefits (Awards): Medals to AG top three, plaques to overall top 3.
Charity Tie-In: This event is a fundraiser for the Missions Fund of the Front Street United Methodist Church (Burlington NC).
