Race Report:
Lesssons Learned, I can run a sub 7 mile, but I shouldn't try to at this distance, at least not less then 4 weeks off an Ironman and 5 days off the Army 11+ miler. I had initially thought I could run 37:30 on this course, but readjusted to try for sub 40, but be happy with 42:30 based on the recovery from Wisconsin and Army. So here is how the day went:
Mile 1: 6:59 Mile 2: 7:46 Mile 3: 8:30 Mile 4: 8:41 Mile 5: 7:52 Total: 39:45
One week after running a very consistent race, where my splits were all within a tolerance of 10 seconds, my splits were way off today, in reality if I had set out at a 7:30 first mile, or even 7:45, I could have probably run that 37:30, but there is a big difference in a 7:30 and a 6:59 first mile. So back to the drawing board for some refresher on pacing.
