About Me: |
My wife and I "tri" together...although not as together as we'd like because one of us has to be home with our 2 boys Nate & Josh. We live in Lowes Island in a great neighborhood. Joined Rats looking for fun, to meet nice people to train, race, and trade tri and life stories with. |
What I do to pay the bills: |
Director of PMO at Marriott |
Who defends the ranch when I'm out training: |
My wife Stacey, also a new Rat with me, and our 2 sons Nate (7) and Josh (5) |
Short term triathlon goals: |
Now that I survived Savageman, I'm on a journey to Lake Placid 2010. |
Long term triathlon goals: |
Finish at least 1 Ironman; not sure my life will allow for mulitple...and get faster at the 1/2 IM distance. |
Fantasy triathlon goals: |
Get fast enough to qualify for Clearwater or Hawaii some day |
Three favorite albums: |
All Time - U2 Joshua Tree More recently, and great training music: Angels & Airwaves - I Empire Airborne Toxic Event - Airborne Toxic Event
|
Favorite book: |
Think I have to go with the Lord of the Rings trilogy from my youth |
Favorite movie: |
All time, I'd have to go with Top Gun...almost got me into the military to be a pilot. |
Chocolate: |
Peanut M&Ms and dark chocolate...but not chocolate ice cream |
Garlic: |
Yes lots of it |
Blue Cheese: |
Only when some of my best grilled and very hot wings are being dipped in it |
For breakfast, I usually have: |
Cereal, but on race days I like a couple of waffles and a banana |
After a long day of training, my favorite meal is: |
I often make a 2-egg, 3 pieces of bacon, and cheese egg sandwich on an oversized english muffin (most training is early). But can't go wrong with a big cheeseburger either! |
My best triathlon advice is: |
Slow steady build-up always works best; anything else = injury |
My best non-triathlon advice is: |
No regrets! And put your family first! |
What was I thinking when I signed up for my first race: |
First race was Columbia in 1999, but I almost don't count that because the equipment sat idle since. What really got me going was watching a friend race Lake Placid in 2007. When I saw that swim start, I immediately decided to sign up for a 1/2 IM in 2008. Now I'm hooked. |
Everything I need to know I learned from: |
Mom, Stepdad, Dad, wife and now kids |
My deepest, darkest secret is: |
Now you know I can't tell you that! |
